Winter will soon be over here in the Dolomites too and spring is fast approaching. The first flowery harbingers of spring can already be seen down here in the valley. If you want to spend the Easter holidays in the Dolomites and experience all kinds of traditions, you can expect numerous customs that bring the festival to life: colourful palm brooms on Palm Sunday, the wooden rattles that can be heard on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, the festive Easter bonfire on Holy Saturday, the Easter graves in many communities, but also secular customs such as the palm donkey, Easter egg dyeing on Maundy Thursday and the joyful search for the Easter basket for children.
